This morning, this Wednesday morning in August, Jay and Jesse departed for a multi-week adventure by bicycle. Jay has more than earned this time to roam with how hectic things have been lately. After the fence building weekend he drove to Portland for a graduate school entrance exam. Even though he had very little time to study he left the test knowing he passed two sections and will soon be receiving scores for the written portion. Think good thoughts! Tuesday was a mad dash to pack and then this morning was the date he and Jesse have been waiting for for months!
Jesse arrived at our house bright and early at 7:30 am, as Jay was working on strapping all of his gear to his bike. He is using a new system of gear on this trip, where he used panniers on his Mexico bike trip. Brynn and Robert came over for the farewell and the guys rode off to face the day/road/world at 8:30 am.

Crystal. This is great! I am going to love reading about their progress; following the map and enjoying your story telling. You do have a knack. And how fun to have it for Jay & Jesse when they return (assuming that Jesse doesn't have an Iphone). This would have been a good reason to get one.
